Our pets aren’t just animals—they’re loyal companions, constant sources of joy, and a true part of the family. They’re there for the everyday moments and the big milestones, offering love, comfort, and plenty of laughs along the way.
The key is to be patient!!
At the start of your session, we will try to capture your family portrait all together, while you still have enough treats as well!
Most pets won’t pose perfectly so let them be! Embrace the super candid expressions from everyone, including your pet!
Most people ask…are pets welcome in my studio?
Yes! As we let your pet get comfortable in studio, we may try to sneak in a few photos of others to get started. Once they are ready and familiar with the indoor space, we will get them into the photos. Have a plan!
1. Bring Treats and Favorite Toys
Bring your pet’s favourite treat or toys to help keep their attention and reward good behavior. These can also be great props or tools to get their eyes looking toward the camera.
2. Exercise Before the Session
Consider going for a big walk before the session. This can help reduce excess energy and make the pet more relaxed and cooperative during the shoot.
3. Pack Essentials and Be Patient
Bring your pet essentials like water, a leash, waste bags, and a towel (just in case!). Patience is key—pets may need extra time to get comfortable, and that’s completely normal.
That’s why I always encourage you to include them in your photo session. Whether it’s a goofy pup, a calm senior dog, a curious cat, or any other beloved pet, they deserve to be celebrated right alongside you.
These portraits are about capturing your real life and real love—and that includes the four-legged (or feathered or furry) members too.
So bring them along. Let’s create memories that honor your whole family.
